When Techno Takes Over: Charlotte De Witte, Klangkuenstler & Sara Landry Bring Fire to [Unvrs] Ibiza

techno domination in ibiza

As one of techno’s most formidable forces continues her global dominance, Charlotte De Witte is set to bring her signature dark, hypnotic beats to [Unvrs] Ibiza this summer season. The Belgian producer and DJ, who has risen meteorically through the techno ranks since her debut, will headline alongside German producer Klangkuenstler and American powerhouse Sara Landry in what promises to be one of the island’s most intense sonic experiences this year.

De Witte’s journey to techno royalty began in the underground clubs of her hometown Ghent, where she first stepped behind the decks in 2010 at just 17 years old. Initially performing under the alias “Raving George” to navigate gender bias in the electronic music scene, she won a pivotal DJ contest in 2011 that catapulted her onto Tomorrowland‘s main stage—an early career milestone that signaled her exceptional talent.

From underground Ghent clubs to Tomorrowland’s main stage, De Witte’s rise proved her exceptional talent couldn’t be contained.

The 31-year-old artist underwent a significant musical evolution in 2015, shedding her alias to perform under her birth name and shifting her sound from electro house toward the darker, more industrial techno that has become her trademark. This change coincided with the release of her debut EP “Weltschmerz” on Turbo Recordings, which showcased her new direction inspired partly by German techno DJ Len Faki. De Witte made history as the first female headliner at Tomorrowland, breaking barriers in the male-dominated techno scene.

Her upcoming [Unvrs] Ibiza performance follows years of global touring across prestigious venues and festivals including Awakenings, Printworks, Junction 2, and multiple Boiler Room appearances. Her methodical approach to pre-show preparation has become legendary among venue staff, as she typically arrives hours before performances to personally oversee sound checks and equipment setup. In 2019, she was voted the world’s best techno DJ at the prestigious DJ Awards, solidifying her status in the electronic music scene. De Witte’s sets are renowned for their raw warehouse energy, characterized by pounding rhythms and hypnotic sequences that create immersive dancefloor experiences.

Since establishing her label KNTXT in 2015—initially as an event series and radio show before expanding into a full record label in 2019—De Witte has further cemented her position in the techno landscape. The label has become her primary platform for releasing music that embodies her gritty, club-focused aesthetic. Beyond her performances and label work, she has successfully diversified her revenue through sync deals for her distinctive tracks, licensing her hypnotic techno compositions for use in film and television.

Fans attending the [Unvrs] event can expect an uncompromising journey through De Witte’s distinctive sound, demonstrating why she remains at the forefront of contemporary techno’s evolution.
