As fans enthusiastically awaited new material from the Paramore frontwoman, Hayley Williams has officially released her third solo studio album, “*Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party*,” in August 2025 through an unconventional rollout strategy that began with an exclusive leak to customers of her Good Dye Young hair company.
The album represents Williams’ first independent release since departing Atlantic Records in 2023, now operating under her “Post Atlantic” imprint via Secretly Distribution.
Williams initially uploaded the collection as 17 individual tracks on her personal website before strategically re-releasing them as singles across streaming platforms, deliberately avoiding the traditional album format. The artist later added the previously unreleased track “Parachute,” a synth-pop offering with confessional lyrics, bringing the final track count to 18 songs.
Physical formats include multiple vinyl variants—Black, Zissou Clear-Wave, and Ego Gold Marble—alongside a limited edition CD restricted to just 1,500 copies. The highly coveted Ego Gold Marble vinyl was made exclusively available to Tennessee retailers as a special regional release.
Collector’s alert: choose from three vinyl variants or snag one of only 1,500 limited CDs while supplies last.
The album’s production credits primarily feature Daniel James, with additional contributions from Joey Howard and Paramore touring member Brian Robert Jones. Notable collaborator Jim-E Stack, known for work with Lorde and Bon Iver, enhanced the faith-stricken tone of standout track “True Believer.”
Other significant songs include the title track, “Glum,” “Kill Me,” and “Mirtazapine,” which debuted exclusively on Nashville Public Radio before wider release.
Musically, the collection defies easy categorization, blending alternative pop with elements of trip hop, indie rock, folk, and synth-pop. The sound palette features atmospheric, brooding overlays and soul-inflected guitar rumbles that create a textured soundscape supporting Williams’ vulnerable lyrical explorations.
Thematically, the songs explore personal growth, introspection, and emotional rawness. Williams meticulously ensured metadata accuracy across all digital platforms to facilitate proper royalty collection and searchability. Williams has expressed interest in fan input regarding the final track ordering for the physical release, further emphasizing her collaborative approach with listeners.
Williams’ grassroots marketing approach aimed to create a more tangible, immersive music experience in an industry dominated by streaming platforms and algorithmic playlists. She’s also exploring potential sync deals for several tracks, opening additional revenue streams beyond traditional album sales.
Music videos directed by Zachary Gray and AJ Gibboney further complement the album’s independent aesthetic and artistic vision.
