Rising independent music company Minds On Fire has struck a global administration agreement with Sony Music Publishing, greatly expanding its international reach and support for its diverse roster of songwriters and producers. The partnership, announced on October 15, 2025, establishes a joint venture that will pursue new writer deals while providing thorough worldwide administration services for Minds On Fire’s growing catalogue.
Founded by Simon Harris and James Pitt, Minds On Fire has built an impressive roster featuring acclaimed talents such as Rob Harvey, Tom Havelock, Kolter, Obskür, Joe Ashworth, Objekt, Alan Fitzpatrick, Carlita, and Sasha, along with the New Young Pony Club catalogue. The company has fostered collaborations with major artists including Clean Bandit, Joel Corry, David Guetta, and Becky Hill, cementing its reputation as a creative force in the indie music landscape.
Sony Music Publishing, which rebranded from Sony/ATV in 2021, brings its extensive global network and history of supporting songwriters’ rights to the partnership. David Ventura, President & Co-Managing Director, UK, SVP International at Sony Music Publishing, expressed enthusiasm about working with Minds On Fire’s diverse lineup of electronic artists and producers. The deal aims to maintain a hands-on approach to creativity while leveraging global opportunities for the company’s writers.
The deal arrives at a strategic time, as Minds On Fire recently signed writer/producer Jay Gilbert to an exclusive deal following his success with the hit “No Bad Vibes.” The partnership will enable artists to optimize their streaming revenue through more effective distribution across platforms like Spotify, Tidal, and Pandora.
The partnership reflects a growing trend in the music publishing industry where independent companies align with major publishers to enhance their global reach while maintaining their unique creative approaches. For Minds On Fire’s roster, the deal provides access to Sony’s international network while preserving the hands-on approach that has defined the company’s success.
This collaboration will significantly enhance opportunities for sync deals, allowing songwriters to license their music for film, television, and advertising placements while receiving proper royalty compensation.
Industry analysts note that this agreement strengthens Minds On Fire’s position in the competitive music publishing market and signals confidence in the company’s growth trajectory.
Tom Currie, part of Minds On Fire’s partnership team, highlighted that the collaboration will enhance both creativity and collections for their writers while leveraging Sony’s established global infrastructure.
