Dance-punk veterans LCD Soundsystem have announced their most ambitious New York City residency to date, scheduling 12 shows across three weekends at Queens’ Knockdown Center in late 2025. The performances will span November 20-23, December 4-7, and December 10-13, marking the band’s fifth extended NYC residency since 2021 and continuing what has become an annual tradition for the James Murphy-led group.
The 2025 event expands beyond standard concerts into an all-encompassing cultural experience at the multi-functional Knockdown Center, which will host the band for the second consecutive year. Each night will feature live opening acts followed by special guest DJ sets at afterparties, creating an immersive musical environment that extends well beyond LCD Soundsystem’s headline performances. The band’s previous residencies in 2021 through 2024 were completely sold out, demonstrating their enduring popularity with New York audiences.
Fans can anticipate additional cultural elements throughout the three-weekend takeover, including a DFA Records swap meet where attendees can trade music and memorabilia. The residency will also feature a pop-up version of James Murphy’s Michelin-starred wine bar, The Four Horsemen, offering concertgoers a taste of the frontman’s acclaimed Brooklyn establishment. The band’s official Instagram announcement encouraged fans to sign up through a link in their bio for more information about the special events.
Beyond the music, fans will enjoy the DFA Records swap meet and a pop-up of Murphy’s Michelin-starred wine bar, The Four Horsemen.
Ticket sales begin Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10 a.m. ET through the AXS platform, with presale opportunities for American Express cardholders from September 16 to 18. A dedicated fan presale will launch September 17 at 10 a.m. ET, providing loyal followers early access to secure their spots.
The expanded 12-show format represents significant growth from previous years’ eight-show residencies, reflecting the sustained demand and cultural relevance of LCD Soundsystem in the New York music scene. While speculation surrounds potential new music in 2025, the band has yet to provide detailed information about a rumored upcoming album.
This residency continues LCD Soundsystem’s pattern of creating defining events in NYC’s live music calendar, combining their pioneering electronica with community-building elements that transform concerts into all-encompassing cultural experiences spanning multiple weekends and extending well beyond the music itself. The extended format cleverly capitalizes on the value of live performances as one of the most reliable revenue streams for musicians in today’s industry. The band has also leveraged streaming platforms effectively to build anticipation for the residency, utilizing platform-specific features to engage with fans and promote the upcoming shows.
