While global superstar Mariah Carey has performed in countless iconic venues throughout her illustrious career, her upcoming concert in the Amazon rainforest promises to be among her most extraordinary. Scheduled for September 17, 2025, the Grammy-winning vocalist will headline “Amazônia Live – Today and Always” in Belém, Brazil, performing on a floating stage inspired by the Victoria Amazonica, the giant water lily native to the region.

The concert, strategically timed to coincide with the lead-up to COP30 environmental summit in November 2025, aims to raise global awareness for Amazon rainforest protection. Rock World, the production company behind Rock in Rio and The Town festivals, has designed the event to unfold at sunset on the Guamá River, creating a dramatic backdrop that merges artistic innovation with ecological symbolism.

For Carey, the performance comes during a remarkable year that has already seen her receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards and the MTV VMA Video Vanguard Award. The Amazon concert will precede the September 26 release of her sixteenth studio album, “Here For It All,” potentially introducing new material to an international audience.

The event will showcase regional Brazilian culture through opening performances by local Pará artists including Dona Onete, Joelma, Gaby Amarantos, and Zaynara. The concert aims to create a powerful statement on environmental sustainability through its unique integration of music and nature conservation. Brazilian star Ivete Sangalo will extend the celebration with a free concert on September 20, reinforcing the event’s conservation message.

This rainforest performance represents a new approach to sync licensing for Carey, as footage will be made available for documentaries and environmental campaigns worldwide. Carey has partnered with several collecting societies to ensure that royalties from the performance benefit both her creative team and conservation efforts. Beyond entertainment, the concert supports indigenous communities and promotes sustainable development through bioeconomy initiatives and reforestation efforts. This unique performance is expected to be one of Carey’s most unforgettable performances to date. The entire performance will be filmed and broadcast as a nationwide television special across Brazil, amplifying its environmental advocacy beyond physical attendees.
