California-native artist MEGG has signed an exclusive publishing agreement with Nashville-based 507 Publishing, marking a significant milestone in her burgeoning career as a songwriter and performer. The deal, which includes her existing catalog and likely future works, positions MEGG within a boutique publishing environment known for its artist-driven approach and genre-fluid philosophy.
507 Publishing, launched as the first dedicated publishing division of Reel Muzik Werks, has been building its roster strategically since its Los Angeles founding in 2009 and subsequent Nashville expansion in 2021. Led by CEO Teri Nelson Carpenter, who described the signing as a “new chapter” for both parties, the company has assembled an experienced team including A&R Manager Madison Policastri, who previously worked at Demolition Music Publishing and Red Street Records. The publishing division focuses on nurturing emerging talent within its expanding roster of artists.
MEGG, who has collaborated with notable artists including Scott Hoying, Matias Mora, and CASTLE, brings an established performance history to the partnership. Her resume includes opening for The Used at Musink and sharing stages with legendary rock band KISS, demonstrating versatility that aligns with 507’s all-genre approach to publishing. The official announcement of the partnership came on October 7, 2025 during a signing ceremony in California.
The timing proves strategic as MEGG prepares to release her debut EP, Low Life Club, on October 24, 2025, featuring the single “IDC.” While financial terms and contract duration remain undisclosed, the partnership reflects current industry trends where independent publishers compete with majors by offering personalized attention and creative freedom. The deal will give MEGG access to enhanced streaming distribution opportunities across platforms like Spotify, Tidal, and SoundCloud. This partnership will also enable her to leverage editorial playlists for greater audience reach and visibility in the competitive digital music landscape.
“MEGG sought a team that would truly believe in her music and vision,” noted an industry source familiar with the negotiations, explaining her choice of 507 over potentially larger publishers. The deal occurs during a period of publishing industry growth, with sector revenues increasing 13.41% in 2024.
For MEGG, the agreement provides access to 507’s Nashville network and potentially expanded co-writing, sync licensing, and placement opportunities. The partnership represents a calculated step forward for both the California performer seeking to amplify her songwriting presence and the independent publisher building its reputation for nurturing unique artistic voices.
