Thirty years after its original release, Madonna‘s critically acclaimed 1994 album “Bedtime Stories” is receiving a commemorative reissue set to arrive on November 28, 2025. The celebration package includes the original album pressed on silver vinyl alongside a deluxe 2-CD edition, which pairs the classic 11-track album with a new EP titled “The Untold Chapter.”
Madonna’s landmark “Bedtime Stories” returns for its 30th anniversary with silver vinyl and deluxe edition featuring “The Untold Chapter” EP.
While the announcement generated initial excitement among Madonna’s devoted fanbase, the actual contents have left some longtime followers wanting more from this milestone anniversary.
The original “Bedtime Stories,” which delivered hit singles like “Secret” and “Take a Bow,” remains intact in the reissue, accompanied by exclusive posters for purchases made through Madonna.com and Rhino.com.
The deluxe package includes a 20-page booklet featuring lyrics and artwork, plus three postcards containing never-before-seen images from Paolo Roversi’s 1994 photoshoot. However, the supplementary material falls short of the thorough archival exploration many anticipated for such a significant anniversary.
“The Untold Chapter” EP comprises eight tracks of demos and alternate versions, including “Survival” (Quiet Storm Demo Remix), “Secret” (Allstar New Single Mix), and previously unreleased variations like “Freedom” (Short Mix).
Madonna personally curated these selections alongside producer Stuart Price, who is simultaneously working on her forthcoming new album. The collaboration suggests a deliberate balancing of nostalgia with forward momentum in her career.
Industry observers note that fans expected a more substantial archival release, particularly given the trend of expansive anniversary editions from Madonna’s contemporaries. The digital format availability of the EP does offer fans easier access to these rare recordings than vinyl format alone.
The relatively modest offering of eight bonus tracks, packaged in a multi-panel digipack, represents a more restrained approach than the extensive box sets that have become standard for milestone reissues. Fans hoping to purchase this limited release may be disappointed to learn it’s currently sold out for pre-order.
While the silver vinyl pressing adds collector appeal, the overall package emphasizes quality over quantity, focusing on select rarities rather than overwhelming fans with multiple discs of alternate takes and remixes that characterized previous legacy releases from other iconic artists.
This reissue comes at a time when many artists are working with Collective Management Organizations to maximize royalties from remastered and re-released content across streaming platforms worldwide.
Madonna’s team has announced the album will be available on all major streaming services, allowing both longtime fans and new listeners to experience this seminal work through platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal’s high-fidelity option.
